Miley Cyrus has brushed aside Britney Spears to become America's favorite teen idol, according to a new poll. The 'Hannah Montana' actress has been voted the number one young star in an online survey conducted by 'PopEater.com', grabbing 32 per cent of the votes. The Jonas Brothers came second with 27 per cent, while former idol Spears had to settle for third place.

A total of 57,000 people took the survey, which also saw country star Taylor Swift named the celebrity who has the best influence on young people, while The Backstreet Boys were voted the greatest teen idols of the 1990s.

Britney Spears has condemned the actions of two of her Circus tour roadies, who were arrested on Wednesday night for fighting with the police. According to a criminal complaint, Rockey Lee Dickey, 34, attempted to hit an officer who intervened during a drunken brawl with an unidentified man. Alex Montes, 23, allegedly stepped in and placed the officer in a headlock and was arrested shortly after fleeing the scene.

Police reportedly used a Taser gun to subdue Dickey, who has been charged with simple assault and resisting arrest. Both men have been charged with disorderly conduct, criminal conspiracy and public drunkenness. They are free on $100,000 bail. On her blog, Spears distanced herself from the men, stating they were

"two employees of a company contracted to provide equipment for The Circus and were not employees of the singer. The Circus Starring Britney Spears tour does not support or tolerate this type of behavior."

Britney Spears' sister Jamie Lynn has reportedly called off her wedding to the father of her daughter - months after she was forced to deny rumors of a split.

  The pop star's younger sibling hit the headlines at 16 when she announced she was expecting a child with her boyfriend Casey Aldridge, who she vowed to marry.

  Following the birth of their daughter Maddie Briann in June, the teen couple became the subject of fervent tabloid speculation which suggested they were living apart after Aldridge cheated on Spears.

  The Zoey 101 star came forward in October to deny the persistent infidelity rumors and re-iterate her plans to tie the knot with her boyfriend.

  But now the 17-year-old is said to have scrapped her plans to walk down the aisle with Aldridge once and for all - after deciding she doesn't need an official ceremony to make her happy.

  A source tells U.S. magazine OK!, "The wedding's off. They are still in love, living together and very happy, but they have no plans to get married. Jamie Lynn has everything she wants and feels no need for a ring and piece of paper."

  And the publication alleges that Spears has also decided to give up her acting career - so she can focus on raising her toddler.

  The insider adds: "She has told friends and family she's never coming back to Hollywood. She feels that part of her life is over. Jamie Lynn enjoyed every minute of doing Zoey, but since she's had Maddie, her life has changed completely.

  "She's happy being a real hands-on Southern mother and hopes to continue that for years to come with Casey right by her side. Jamie Lynn knows she needs to make a living when she grows older, so she's already discussing her career options with advisers. She wants Maddie to grow up in comfort."

Britney Spears' world tour has been thrown into turmoil after three of her dancers were fired for failing drugs tests. The 'Toxic' star kicked off her Circus world tour in New Orleans, Louisiana on Tuesday night.

The concert features a group of dancers alongside Spears - but now three have been axed from the gigs after the drugs discovery. A source tells 'RadarOnline.com',

"I think the fired dancers just didn't expect to actually get tested. And drugs are just not okay so they had to go."

Spears' Circus tour will take in more than 40 dates and conclude in London on 14 June.

Britney Spears delighted fans with her comeback concert in New Orleans, Louisiana on Tuesday night - putting her past problems behind her to stage a spectacular Circus-themed show. The pop star kicked off the night at the city's New Orleans Arena by descending from the ceiling on a circular trapeze, singing her recent track Circus, which provided the inspiration for the stunt-filled extravaganza. Spears straddled a stripper pole to sing Radar while her 2007 hit 'Gimme More' was given a martial arts theme, with the star performing alongside a troupe of dancing ninjas. Her collaboration with Madonna, Me Against the Music, was restyled with a Bollywood routine.

The star added some magical twists with a series of stunning illusions - the audience saw the star placed in a box and 'cut in half' during her rendition of Ooh Ooh Baby - and over 25 costume changes. The singer stopped during the gig to pay tribute to her fans, telling the crowd, "Thank you New Orleans for coming out tonight, I love you." The star ended the gig with a remix of her debut single Baby... One More Time, before returning to the stage dressed as a cop for her recent hit 'Womanizer' and a reprise of Circus. Spears' show marks a triumphant return to form following a traumatic year which saw her stripped of custody of her two children and hospitalized under a mental health order. The performance is Spears' first arena concert since her Onyx Hotel Tour in 2004. Spears' Circus tour will take in over 40 dates and conclude in London on 14 June.

Britney Spears  will be sawn in half during a magical stage routine as part of her upcoming  'Circus' comeback tour. The pop superstar has been busy working on a multitude of tricks with illusionist Ed Alonzo to make sure her forthcoming world tour is one to remember. The top TV magician tells People.com, "There are three giant circus rings with unbelievable things hanging in the air and flying around. "She's incorporated into major illusions. She'll do dissection, where she's sawed in half, and transposition, where she's in one place and ends up in another place. She's doing all the classic elements of magic." And Alonzo insists Spears is in the best shape possible to pull off the stunts. He adds, "She looks really incredible. She's really toned. Her stomach looks fantastic. This is the Britney Spears people remember from the past. Even stronger and better."

Britney Spears has hired the services of an illusionist to make sure her comeback concerts next month really are magic. The pop star has been working with top TV magician Ed Alonzo - and she'll have a few tricks up her sleeve, literally. Alonzo tells In Touch Weekly, "She'll be singing, dancing and doing illusions at the same time." Meanwhile, the singer has been rehearsing eight hours a day, often in a string bikini, to perfect her dance moves with Indian choreographer Rujuta. He says, "Britney is a perfectionist." Rujuta reveals Spears is planning a Bollywood inspired duet with Madonna.
